:) Yay! Baptisms. This past week we had baptisms. I sang "I am a Child of God" with a member and basically they want to hire me to be the next Beyonce. I know, Id be a little jealous too. Its a joke! But really this was a sweet moment. This cute sister started crying... Which means alot. We have taught her now for 3 weeks and to be honest, it was hard to break the ice off because she is very serious. I love her to death. It was the sweetest baptism. I felt the spirit oh so strong. Also, literally everything that could have possibly gone wrong, went wrong.. Satan really does work evil when Gods children want to do whats right. Lets review what happened the day of her baptism..
1) Her dress was huge.. lack of clothing
2) The gas ran out
3) The water ran out
4) Presidente Pincay (Counselor of Presdiente Torres) couldnt make her service
5) Change of plans, different Church building!!!
6) It started to rain..
and rain
...and rain some more
7) The alarm of the chapel rang..we waited for the police, but they didnt show up. Good move, security guy. haha

It was amazing to see that really Satan works hard against us. He gets us down and makes us discouraged. But.. have no fear, God wins. God always wins. Hooray for Israel! I felt the spirit SO strong. WOw :) Incredible.

Oh sidenote, something I forgot to say in my past letter was that the Castillo family got baptized! I taught a girl named Yolanda Castillo here in Cuenca about 3 or 4 months ago..And Sister Nazer told me that she now is a member and that her family is active! When we passed by the chapel, I saw her brother named Erick and Ricardo and literally was SO genuienly happy.. It made my heart SING. Ive never had an experience SO touching.

In other news, Im Sister leader again! What a great chance to love and serve the sisters in my zone, no? There are more sisters here in this zone than all of the mission.. Sister power! :) I am thrilled. I hope I can serve them and love them. This is my prayer for this week.

Anyways, keep the prayers rolling. Pray for the health of me and my comp..We have been abit under the weather lately.

Cold hugs from Cuenca,
Hermanita Bennett

WOAAAAAH! Hola. Hello. Hi!

Sister Bennett here and going strong..Its been awhile, right? Sorry. I tried adding pics on my other email but it didnt work.. So here I am :) I want to add a few pics of things that have happened and SUPRIZE... I had camibos/transfers..(About 2 weeks ago, lets all pray I dont have one tonight).. Heres some PISTAS (clues) of where I am at right now.. Dun Dun Dunnn!!! Drumroll please..

1) Tea or...here in Ecuador "aguita aromantica" yum.
2) Its beginning to look alot like christmas.. :) BRRRR..even Buddy has a bufanda (scarf)
3) Your average day pet turned into a delicious lunch..Yup, thats right. Cuy cuy. Guine Pigs!

...I am here...in CUENCA...again! I was sad to leave my ward in Machala and my comp but dont worry, I am with another Chilean.. I love people from Chile.. If I were Latina, I would be from Chile.. Seriously. My comps name is Hna Perez. We get along SO well. Like...we were bestfriends in another life. We laugh nonstop..we get in trouble we are so happy. I love her. I could easily end my mission with this girl! :) So fun.. We are in Barrio Tarqui(I dont know if Im allowed to say the ward so erase this for the blog post) but yeah..My bishop is a gringo..I feel like Im serving in Park City or Idaho or something...But instead of bazillion mormons and temples, I am surrounded by Catholics and Cathedrals! Its bunches of fun. I really feel like being here is a test of my faith. Its hard but so rewarding. I have to be a bold missionary, ready to take on the world.

We are teaching Daniela and Juliana, both of which will be baptized in these 2 weeks.. They both are part member families and they are AWESOME. Seriously. Its like our lessons arent even lessons, they already know everything. What a blessing. Also, the members here are GREAT. I love it. Its been sucha blast..apart from my neck problems.. :)

Heres a pictures of Hna Perez and I. We are a hoot. Lemme just say.. I am in my element here with Hna Perez. Im not sure we will be together for very long bc today we end this transfer..and you know how that goes.. haha

Thats right, Mcflurry in the mano (Hand).. I love this sector.

Also, this week. I went on exchanges with Hna Nazer..Who is a doll.. We taught a few people and had a heart to heart. I told her, WHY WERENT WE FRIENDS A YEAR AGO! :) She is so great. We laughed, almost cried, ahhh.. We both have a good amount of time in the mish 12 and 15 months and we talked about how the mission takes a toll on your minds and body.. Its true, this has been a great lesson for me..To keep going with patience, even when my body begs for rest. Look up the video... "La Obra Misional y La Expiacion" ...or in english Missionary work and the Atonement by Elder Henry B Eyring.. I  may or may not cry like a baby when I see this one.. and that says alot..because Im not much of a crier. :)

:) I love you all so much. Let us all remember that Christ comes tomorrow :) Prepare yourselves well.

Back in Machala

I came back to MACHALA! What an adventure.. My comps name is Hna Martinez, shes from Colombia and she is beautiful, inside and out! She (in secret) is dying..not literally, dont get too freaked out..But shes about to die in the mission! She has one month left..But she would never admit it, She doesnt want to leave. This is the first companion to leave the mission Ive been with(Except for my mom in the mission, Sister Almeida..but I didnt really have a concept of time when I was serving with her haha)
I am in Boyaca Ward... :) Barrio Boyaca! It was SO great to see all of these members..they screamed when they saw me.. I seriously have not felt so loved.. :) What a blessing..

I am tired.. I dont think I am going to write very much. Really, this program that we have doesnt exist yet.. We need to find these people and get the members going in the work! :) We are working towards this! Pray this week that we can find these families and that we will have the energy to work hard and to have more faith! :)

HNA BENNETT

ECUADORis going to win Mundial, lets be honest. But then again, Im a little partial to my mission. HELLO FAMILY, FRIENDS, WORLD

This week, I learned alot of things that are super cool. We always say that there are two sides to every pancake right, so I decided it would be more apropriate to use this metaphor with tostadas, I am in Ecuador, right?
I have realized that the Lord is here in ALL things, he knows who we need to know in exact moments and he knows our hearts. I have a strong testimony that really if we trust the Lord, he will answer us. He loves his children, he knows what we need.

Here is my list of miracles that have happened this week:

1) Cozett: I met a cute girl from Colorado that is serving here in the orphanage in my sector and we passed by yesterday to meet the Bishop. Turns out, he wasnt home  and I was a BIT discouarged (yesterday was SO CRAZY) but I felt strongly to go talk to the volunteers. We walked back to their house and I was just asking about if they knew anyone we could teach, etc,etc..and I met this cute girl! She told me she got her mission call to the Guayaquil North mission and was supposed to leave but has had some challenges and still has her papers open but is indecisive if she wants to serve.. She told me she had PRAYED for this entire trip shes been here to meet me...a sister missionary. Wow. I felt so blessed to have been in the right place at the right time to help and inspire this cute girl.

2) HOME: Recently, I prayed super duper hard to just have something from home.. Not that I am trunky or want to leave, but I simply wanted a little piece of home. I prayed and felt deep down that the Lord was going to answer me. I knew he would. And HE DID! A group of HEFY kids have been here for 2 weeks now, Brooke Allen came from Vegas, whose older brother is a friend and mom was my seminary teacher. I felt so calm to see her! She probably got freaked out that I was SO excited to see someone from my TOWN! I cant even explain it. I was answered.

3) President Torres: Presidente came to a Meeting we had on Saturday and spoke right to my heart. He said the exact things that I had either been improving on or things that I simply needed to hear. I had prayed for direction and an answer to the things that had been passing by. He reminded us on the little techniques that we NEED to do to make sure that Satan doesnt get in the way with our investigators...And after this meeting, we left to go meet with Pablo(whose baptism date fell through recentely) and I learned a grand lesson. Satan works on hearts that are preparing to come to Christ. We had a tad bit of a confusion and it turned out that we let him down! We missed an important lesson with him(to get to know his family) and he was sad which closed his heart to the Gospel. His family then turned against him a bit and thought he was lying about the missionaries teaching him.. and it all just fell to pieces. I learned my lesson, the hard way, but I learned. Decisions determine destiny. Someday, he will be open to the gospel again. I know it.

4) Sister Mojica: I am with my old comp! HOOOORAY! I was thinking alot about Sister Mojica this last week.. I really missed her and knowing that my companion was about to leave, I was sad. I think this is the FIRST time I have felt genuienly sad to see a comp go. If you know me, I kind of like change, new people, new things but this was the first time where I had grown with my comp. I had seen her struggle and I had to help her. It was beautiful. As Sister Jimenez and I left for Guayaquil, I was nervous but felt good... The APs told us we were comps again and I was given this sweet companion from Nicaragua again! WOOOOH :) I was so excited. The truth is, the first time we were comps (3ish months ago) , we were not as mature and fun as we are now. We are more obedient, more focused and we are growing as missionaries. I am soooooo grateful.

What else? I am so happy to be here! Its been a week of miracles. I am just working on and growing :) Thats about it. I think this week we are going to start fasting to receive more answers and blessings here in Miraflores.

¡JESUCRISTO VIVE, SIGAMOS EN LA OBRA!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Bennett
